The biggest ever plans for the construction of office space in Salford have been given the green light by local planners.
Crain's Manchester Business reported the project aims to build in excess of two million sq ft of new, modern office design space in the city, as well as a 390-room hotel, 24,000 sq ft of retail space and a new food, drink and entertainment complex.
Sir Michael Lyons, non-executive chairman of the English Cities Fund, said: "The decision is a significant landmark and lays the foundations for the much-needed regeneration of this area."
Elsewhere in the region, Marks & Spencer recently announced plans to move into 21,000 sq ft of office space at the Spinningfields development in Manchester.
The company has signed a 15-year lease for 3 Hardman Street at the office interior park and is all set to move from its present headquarters in Salford Quays.
