Sheffield office space 'to see boom'
07-08-2008
Office refurbishment and design in Sheffield is set to see a boom in the coming months despite the effects of the current economic climate, it has been suggested.Choregus.co.uk has reported that the recent publication of Lambert Smith Hampton's National Office Report 2008 has shown that over 400,000 sq ft of office space has been taken up in the area so far this year.
The rise in demand in the area is also likely to see rental prices increase and the report predicts a rise of £0.50 per sq ft by 2009.
Furthermore, it notes that as the city does not rely on the financial sector for much of its business it has been largely unaffected by the current economic downturn and is set for further growth throughout the year and beyond.
In related news, it was recently reported that up to 1.3 million individuals of working age live in or around the Sheffield area and therefore the city is becoming one of the fastest growing office development areas in the country.
