Sustainable office design of the future should focus on the use of solar energy, the National Energy Foundation (NEF) has claimed.
The organisation noted that across the globe, the planet is bombarded with 8,300 times more solar energy is consumed each day and if efforts are made to harness this power, then businesses could significantly boost their sustainable office design credentials.
A spokesperson for the organisation commented: "We have only got to trap one eight-thousandth of that energy and we can supply the whole world's energy needs."
The representative added that every property in the UK should be fitted with its own solar panels to make use of this free and abundant energy source.
Meanwhile, new research by UK Climate Projections forecast that the average temperature in the UK will rise by two degrees by 2050 and could increase by up to eight degrees by 2080.
