Businesses across the UK should not dismiss the installation of solar panels as part of their ongoing drive to improve sustainable office design, it has been argued.
Ian Reilly, business development manager at Beyond Building Solar, said that despite the lack of sun that is often the case with weather in the UK, companies can significantly benefit from the installation of green measures such as solar panels at their buildings.
He commented: "Fortunately, solar power doesn't rely purely on beautiful sunny days. It can be a reflected light coming through from cloud cover as well, and it will still operate to a certain extent on those days."
Sustainable development The Greenhouse in Leeds recently highlighted the attraction of green office space with the announcement that the project is now 70 per cent let.
It only opened late last year, but claims to offer 60 per cent cheaper energy bills to its tenants than many other developments in the city.
