Southampton office development given green light

A new office layout is to be at the heart of a new development on the south coast of England, it has been revealed.

Property development firm Terrace Hill, which is listed on the alternative investment market, has been given approval to build a total of 116,928 sq ft of office space on a two-acre site in Southampton.

As well as the office fit out, the development is also to incorporate a 150-room hotel and 180 apartments, PropertyWeek reports.

Richard Myers, development executive at Terrace Hill, said: "This is one of the largest inward investments into Southampton for some time, matching the council's aspirations for the area."

He added that the office layout, in addition to the other features of the project, will help to "regenerate a site that has lain dormant for a number of years" and create new public space.

Located near Southampton Central station, the development is due to be completed by 2010.
