The owners of the Steam Packet House building on Manchester's Cross Street are set to invest in an office refurbishment programme to help boost the quality of the available office space.
The Done brothers are among those who are investing in Manchester office space as part of an effort to attract more firms to the city, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Peter Done junior told the newspaper: "Steam Packet House is a commanding and well-known building within the city centre and, although market conditions remain challenging, we are very confident that our fresh approach to transforming the building will be well received by occupiers."
While some of the building is currently occupied, some space does remain available to new tenants and the owners hope to have this filled by the new year, the newspaper reports.
A letting agent for the property, Andrew Timms of Edwards & Co, added that the building could become one of the most attractive period offices in the city.
Earlier this month it was reported by Manchester Confidential that law firm McGrigor's believes overseas investment is needed in the city's office market in order to boost the take-up of available space.
