Sustainable office design has been embraced at a development in Stockport.
The new five-storey Fred Perry House has achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent and is the first council building to have gained this accreditation in the borough.
Councillor Dave Goddard, leader of Stockport Council, said: "Cutting carbon emissions and looking after the environment are at the top of our agenda here in Stockport and with our BREEAM Excellent new civic building, we are leading by example."
He added that the property will help the council in its ongoing efforts to reduce costs and limit its environmental impact.
Meanwhile, sustainable office design firm Morgan Lovell is to hold a seminar on how to achieve the best BREEAM rating possible when carrying out an office fit-out in November.
Taking place at Charles Darwin House in London on November 16th, the event will be presented by Hazel Norman, executive director of the British Ecological Society.
