Storage firm completes £400,000 Preston office refit

A storage firm in north Lancashire has completed a £400,000 refit of its offices in Preston.

Smart Move opened its fifth office design following the refurbishment of the 13,000 sq ft unit on Lund Street, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.

The firm opened this office in a bid to move outside of its current market which is based predominantly in the Merseyside area, where it already has four stores.

Managing director Jon Wyles told the newspaper: "In the current economic climate we have found that self-storage may not be recession-proof, but it certainly seems to be recession-resistant."

Elsewhere in the region, Avanta recently announced that it would be starting work on a new office development in Manchester.

The £4 million project is taking place at 56 to 58 Dale Street and will see the construction of 42,250 sq ft of office space which will be available for rent upon completion.
