Geothermal heating has been embraced at One New Change in the City of London.
The development is harnessing the power of geothermal energy to both warm and cool the building, with sustainability at the heart of the property's ethos.
Estimated to reduce carbon emissions by up to ten per cent per annum at the building, the geothermal heating system could also save the property's owners up to £300,000 a year on lower energy bills.
"The renewable energy system will deliver carbon reductions, cost savings and a comfortable work environment, making it a truly sustainable building of the future," Francis Salway, chief executive of the owner of the development, commented.
Elsewhere in the UK, Stride Treglown's new headquarters in Cardiff recently opened after achieving the highest BREEAM score for sustainability ever recorded.
The property gained a rating of Outstanding and was marked at 89.12 per cent for its green measures by the organisation.
