Law firm Burgess Salmon has announced it has been able to make savings of £30,000 per annum by carrying out an office move and restructuring its IT department.
The company carried out an office relocation designed to reduce the amount of server space which was required to run the firm's IT networks. As a result, the company was able to consolidate over 90 per cent of IT environment, making a £30,000 annual saving in the process.
Alastair Adams, director at Commercial IT Services, said: "This far-sighted attitude has enabled the firm to seize the window of opportunity that came with the move to a new building and has laid the foundations for future IT innovation."
Elsewhere, businesses looking to carry out an office move of their own have been advised to remember a number of important steps that could make the process more straightforward.
Needofficespace.com recommended planning the move meticulously, as this helps streamline the transfer from one building to another and ensures no important documents or equipment are left behind.
