Birmingham development The Cube has almost reached its final phase of development.
The 23-storey modern office design structure will bring 115,000 sq ft of grade A space to the city once it is finished, however, contractors Fitzgerald suffered a number of setbacks during the last few years in regard to this project.
David Bailey, business professor at Coventry University, said: "What's really important is that it's completed as soon as possible and brought to market to bring the economic benefits for Birmingham."
The latest setback to the schedule has been the discovery of a Canada goose nesting in the middle of the site. Therefore, work cannot be finished off until its eggs have hatched and the bird and its family have moved on.
Fitzgerald's head offices are situated in Birmingham and the company presently employs approximately 150 members of staff at the building. It specialises in infrastructure, public realm and civil engineering projects across the Midlands and has an annual turnover in excess of £25 million.
