The UK market has been described as "top of the field" in terms of its performance over recent months, it has been claimed.
Kelvin Davidson, property economist at Capital Economics, said that as a result, overseas investors are flocking to the UK to snap up available office interior and commercial real estate in London and the other major cities.
He commented: "The markets in the UK and maybe France look to be near the top of the field, so why would you not try and chase them?"
According to The Global Investor Sentiment Survey for the third quarter of 2010 from Colliers International, investors' main targets at present are in London, Paris and retail space across Germany.
It found that 62 per cent of respondents in western Europe intend to make cross-border investments in the next year - a notable increase from the figure of 30 per cent in the first quarter of 2010.
