Wales to gain new sustainable office layouts

Work on the largest speculatively built eco-friendly office layouts ever constructed in Wales has been initiated.

New Builder reports that a webcam recording the progress of the work at 3 Assembly Square will allow potential tenants to oversee the development of the carbon-friendly site.

The construction work represents the latest part of a £140 million development on Cardiff Waterside - the entire estate of which is being constructed with sustainability in mind.

Joy McSmythurs, partner at Knight Frank LLP, comments: "This office building is the first step in the 550,000 sq ft development we are planning for Cardiff Waterside, so it is important the building sets high standards in terms of design and sustainability."

Organisations that could adopt some of the office layouts on offer at the complex include blue-chip firms and public sector bodies, the publication states.

Elsewhere in Wales, ice hockey team the Cardiff Devils have instigated an office relocation, taking residence in the south of the city when club owner Matt Burge takes over on May 1st.
