Law firm Weightmans and commercial property firm Bruntwood have agreed the largest letting of office space in the north-west this year with a 15-year lease on 94,000 sq ft of office space at The Plaza in Liverpool.
Bruntwood, which bought the Plaza eight years ago, has invested a total of £24 million in the development, including the reception entrance relocation to St Paul’s Square, which carried a bill of £2.4 million.
Weightmans decided to make the office move after a merger with rival Mace & Jones saw the firm expand to having more than 1,000 employees. The new office fit out comes after the firm relocates from India Buildings in Water Street.
Bruntwood regional director David Guest said: "A letting this large is testament to the high-quality office space we provide and the level of service and care given to our customers throughout the lifetime of the lease."
David Lewis, head of the Weightmans’ Liverpool office, added: "This move will be the beginning of a new chapter for the Liverpool office - reflecting our confidence in the business and our determination to provide an excellent working environment for our people and flagship headquarters from where we can welcome and service clients."
