Caerphilly Business Park in Wales is currently undergoing its fifth phase of development and is employing a range of sustainable design features to improve the site's green credentials.
The complex is making use of triple-glazed, argon-filled windows to help improve insulation, as well as installing 85mm-thick cavity wall insulation as opposed to the regulation 50mm thickness, according to Azom.com.
Furthermore, the structure makes use of 140mm-thick Celcon Solar blocks to line the inner walls, improving both sound and heat insulation further.
Project manager Brian Gatehouse, commented: "We wanted to build an office space that would have low energy needs, possess sustainable credentials and ultimately achieve a high BREEAM rating."
Meanwhile, possibly the world's most sustainable building ever created is nearing completion in the US.
Independence Station in Independence, Oregon is likely to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating of between 64 to 66 points - out of a possible 69 - when the building is opened next year.
