Welsh office occupants benefit from sustainability tips
08-04-2008
Businesses that occupy offices in Wales may benefit from a free online tool that measures their impact on the environment. The makers of the Envirowise Indicator, which measures sustainability factors such as emissions, waste and consumption, believe it will help firms reduce energy bills.
It also allows businesses to focus on areas that will make sustained improvement on profit and carbon footprints by sending sector-specific data to PCs, reports the Daily Post.
The Envirowise Indicator is programmed to examine six key sectors in Wales - office design, retail, food and drink, manufacturing, chemicals and construction.
However, users of the tool are free to input their own data to obtain more specific results.
The tool is the brainchild of Envirowise, which has been delivering a government-funded programme of free advice to UK businesses since 1994.
Envirowise estimates that it has helped UK industry save more than £1 billion in the past 14 years.
