How we helped a hotel chain look after its people
Nobody knows better than Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) how important it is to keep people happy.
That’s what their whole business is about. So, when they relocated their head office, they wanted to ensure that the most important people of all were kept happy. Their staff. That’s why they called us.
Our challenge was to make their new building sustainable. We sourced FSC certified timber, installed solar panels and only used materials from less than 500 miles away as recommended by LEED. But we didn’t stop there. We know that when you change your office, your staff become your customers. So our employee communication plan was just as comprehensive.

Informing the troops
60% of people want to work for a sustainable company, so why not shout about it? We created a magazine letting IHG’s staff know all about all the eco-friendly initiatives in their new office. After all, an office is only as green as the people in it.

Building excitement
Just telling people isn’t enough. IHG wanted its staff to be enagaged. So, we held a launch seminar where we welcomed the employees into their new office. As well as giving staff a welcome pack each, we really made them feel part of their new space and got them excited about it.
