What is a Podcast?
A podcast is a pre-recorded ‘radio show’ that is posted for download on the internet, typically on iTunes. Users subscribe to a podcast and download individual ‘episodes’ to their iPods or MP3 players to listen whilst commuting, exercising or at home.

In this podcast we talk to Dr. Steve Fotios, Senior Lecturer of Environmental Design & Sustainability from Sheffield University. Dr. Fotios is researching how people perceive different types of lighting and he gives us some surprising insights into how we can reduce energy from office lighting.

In this episode we explore what it means to get a high BREEAM rating. We go on a tour of London’s Charles Darwin House, a 1959 building that was recently awarded a BREEAM Excellent rating. We also interview Martin Townsend, the director of BREEAM, and hear how his organisation is helping to 'green' buildings around the world.
