They announced their partnership with Bear Grylls, Overbury and the Morgan Sindall Group today, which will see them create four new flagship obstacles for the 2016 Bear Grylls Survival Race (BGSR).

Morgan Lovell drew on their network of talented professionals to create the new obstacles, aptly named ‘the big four’. Each has been designed to meet a particular survival theme including jungle, mountain, arctic and desert, and organisers are adamant that obstacles are only revealed at the first race event. Adventurers are being told that the aim of the survival race is to transport festival goers out of their local surroundings into the world of Bear Grylls. Without giving away too much, one challenge includes a dizzying 15 metre drop.

After the first race in Cambridge this summer, these obstacles will be taken down, moved and reassembled at each festival location across the country in Edinburgh, Manchester and London. On offer at each, participants have the option of taking part in 5km and 10km Survival Races, a Bear Grylls Kids Race and the Bear Grylls Outdoor Festival.

Each obstacle has been designed to meet a particular survival theme including jungle, mountain, arctic and desert.

Chris Booth, managing director of Overbury and Morgan Lovell comments: “Bear has high hopes that this is going to be the best Survival Race and Outdoor Family Festival yet, which doesn’t surprise me at all. We’re passionate, creative and skilled, and we thrive when given a challenge, even one as rare as this. Whether it’s transforming offices or building mammoth obstacles, we see unique opportunities to create exceptional experiences everywhere.”

Bear Grylls comments: "I am really excited that the BGSR team is working with Morgan Lovell, Overbury and the Morgan Sindall Group. We have set them a challenge of working with our race team to design and build four new flagship obstacles for the BGSR's this year. The expertise and enthusiasm we have seen so far is incredible and I hope it is the start of a long and prosperous partnership. We can’t wait to see the finished obstacles being tackled by thousands of racers this year."
