Evaluating which technology solution works for your organisation & how it supports agile working
Technological advancement is progressing at an incredibly rapid pace that doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. In a relatively short period, we have witnessed the evolution from telegram to Twitter.
Fax machines were once the most advanced piece of technology in any of ce, now they are almost obsolete, and smart mobile devices are predominant. This relatively recent advancement in mobile technology has resulted in a large amount of the workforce working away from the traditional desk as the bond between worker and desk gets weaker.
On top of this, 2014 saw a number of changes to employment law in the UK. As a result, any employee now has the right to request exible working, with the previous pre-condition of being a parent of a minor under 17 or being a carer removed.
It is believed that a large number of employees have already made use of this change to request exible working where they have reasonable grounds. Employers aren’t obliged to approve every request, however, given the challenges of attracting and retaining top talent, serious consideration has to be given prior to making a decision.
These changes and emerging trends have resulted in a fundamental shift in how employees work and engage with their workplace.
