Café Bee receives double industry recognition

The community café has been nominated for Best Community Project at the BPIC Awards and shortlisted for Building Magazine’s Delivering Social Value Award.

In collaboration with Riverlabs, we transformed a toilet block into Café Bee, a pop-up café in Ware. The café was purpose built for Always Bee You, a Hertfordshire based charity that provides support and opportunities for adults with disabilities and mental health issues. The project gave 20 Always Bee You members the chance to build skills in a supportive environment. The success of Café Bee has opened new doors for the charity, helping grow their profile, strengthen partnerships and expand future opportunities.

The success of Café Bee has not gone unnoticed, with recognitions from two built environment awards this summer: a nomination for Best Community Project at this year’s BPIC Awards and a spot on the shortlist for Building Magazine's Delivering Social Value Award. Both categories celebrate innovative projects that demonstrate long term benefits for the communities they serve.

This recognition is a testament to the creativity, dedication and hard work from everyone involved. We're proud to see the initiative, and the people who have driven it forward, recognised by BPIC Network and Building Magazine. Congratulations to all the finalists and best of luck.
