With the lease on its previous office coming to an end, our client relocated to a new home in the City of London. We delivered a workplace that meets their need for better experiences for clients, stronger security and reconfigurable spaces that can host whole company events.

Designed around people and privacy

The fit out spans the whole building and every area has a clear purpose. The reception on the ground floor provides visitors with a strong first impression, styled to match the company’s other offices. It has enhanced security measures, including new turnstiles for controlling entries, leading on to a dedicated training area for new starters.

The main working floors make up levels one to five, each with open plan desks, collaboration areas, focus rooms, phone booths and tea points. To help make the move from their previous office smoother, the ground, second and fifth floors were handed over early as part of a phased transition into the new workplace.

In the past, the client had to hire external venues for whole company meetings, so the new workspace needed one of their own. Level seven’s "Eat, Meet, Work" space contains social areas, touchdown workspaces and bleacher seating, all configurable to make room for larger events.

Achieving high levels of speech privacy alongside an underfloor air distribution system was a key requirement of the project. Across all floors, acoustic treatments and carefully selected finishes help reduce reverberation and create comfortable spaces for focused work, meetings and client conversations. Additional acoustic treatments were added to level six’s dedicated client suite, made up of a client lounge and meeting rooms, for even stronger privacy and discretion.

Retaining character through reuse

The majority of furniture has been reused from their previous office, supplemented by selected new items and reupholstered pieces. Existing timber panelling inspired several design features throughout the workplace, further reducing the need for new materials.

Secure foundations for the future

The completed workplace now gives employees a range of settings for focused work, collaboration and informal meetings, while the new town hall space provides a permanent home for company wide events. Combined with improved client facilities, enhanced security and high levels of speech privacy, the new office provides a strong foundation for the business' future growth.
