Project description

From the very beginning to the tail end of this design and fit out project, there was an unwavering focus on reducing its impact on the environment. The building itself had already achieved BREEAM excellent and the Cat B fit out achieved SKA silver and WELL certifications.

It was imperative to reduce wastage in every possible way, so redundant ceiling panels were reused elsewhere. Overall 99% of the waste was recycled from the project.

Inherent in this Cat B fit out was the drive to source all the flooring, ceiling, wall finishes, planting, partitions, doors and kitchen equipment from UK suppliers. The 21 bespoke joinery pieces used the carbon neutral Fenix products.

Ambitious and clean modern space

Creating a sensual and memorable experience was a design principle that we followed throughout the space.

The lenticular wall in the walkway changes from one image to another giving people a different experience and view as they pass through. Bespoke sliding slatted doors in the breakout area allows users to choose whether to open or close the environment.

By using curved and reeded glass with Crittal bars, the long sight lines through the space are softened, maximising the benefits from natural daylight and providing a variety of different work areas.

Planters are an aesthetically pleasing way to naturally divide walkways. Where we could incorporate seating, this has created spaces to pause, collaborate or take a call away from the working environment.

Agile workspace putting people first

The design and creative approach to this office is focused on people’s experience. The result is versatile and comfortable for productive working, enabling people’s wider needs and wellbeing.

Providing for every working style, we have incorporated large agile benches, focus rooms, flexible private team offices, relaxed and open breakout spaces and furniture that allows for collaboration. The advanced acoustics support the best use from this variety of open spaces.

There is a multi-faith room, mother’s room and first aid facility and the offices are DDA compliant throughout. Biophilic design prioritises the desire to harmonise the internal space with the natural environment. There is a contour sculpture wall with real planting, a living wall and the textured carpet finishes bring people back to nature. Traditional material finishes are complemented by natural woods, whitewash oak veneers and a soothing colour palette.

C-suite offices merge with team spaces

We created eight individually designed offices for each executive and their teams. These spaces allow a choice between privacy and open, agile working. The double glazed, high quality acoustic finishes allow for quiet team work but can morph into collaborative areas which inspire connections, the meeting of minds and all-important sparking of innovative ideas.

An office design that befits its global status

The warm welcome a visitor feels on entering these Hammersmith offices is matched by the overall quality of the newly designed space. The experience is memorable; the work environment provides for sensory wellbeing; and the environmental ethos focuses implicitly on sustainability.

We're proud to have helped design an A-grade office and fit out that suits its organisation’s global status.
