After a period of significant expansion, RH Amar made the decision to move to a new purpose-built premises, designed to support its continued growth and give colleagues a brilliant place to work. Although the move was local, remaining in High Wycombe where they’d been based since 1996 - the cultural shift was significant.

A recipe for success

We carried out a full workplace consultancy programme for RH Amar in early 2024. Working with staff from across all areas of the business, we conducted vision workshops, focus groups, surveys and test fits.

It was clear that RH Amar's family feel and company pride sat at the heart of every decision. They wanted a space that would bring people together, break down silos and give their products a physical presence in the environment.

All the right ingredients

The ground floor hub was designed as the social heart of the building. It was important for this space to feel welcoming for warehouse workers too - large windows create a clear, visual connection to the warehouse, while the exposed concrete floor provides an easy to clean, approachable surface for muddy boots. Moveable furniture makes the space fully flexible and able to host full company town halls.

At the centre of the hub sits a demonstration kitchen island, allowing groups to gather and watch cooking sessions, host tastings or chef visits. It also supports filmed content in the future, with the kitchen remaining simple so the spotlight shines on RH Amar’s products that are being used. Food stories appear throughout the hub, including pendant lights made of orange peel and a wall made of repurposed olive oil bottles.

Upstairs, the open plan office supports a neighbourhood model with a mix of meeting rooms, booths and touch down settings. This enables easier collaboration while giving them choice in how and where they work. Accessibility was prioritised with wheelchair accessible pods, moveable furniture and a DDA compliant kitchen.

Serving up a space for the future

On handover day the response from staff was hugely positive. The new workspace reflects both the company’s heritage and their future, giving the whole business a place to come together as one. RH Amar told us the space finally feels like them and will support their ambition to grow while keeping their family spirit at the centre of everything they do.
