Home Projects WagWorks
After successfully fitting out WagWorks’ Fulham club, we were invited to deliver their next location in Islington Square. This 8,000 sq ft club was designed to offer local city dogs everything they need under one roof: daycare, healthcare, grooming and training.
WagWorks, a growing premium dog care brand, set out to transform a former nursery in Islington into a destination that supports their holistic, expert led approach to canine care. Having previously delivered the fit out of their Fulham site, we were well positioned to apply the same understanding, design principles and operational insight to their next club.
Converting the space into a specialist dog care hub required a layout that supported WagWorks’ holistic care model. The space now includes a grooming studio, washing room, three indoor parks, rest stables, a vet room and a dedicated scent den - a stimulating space where dogs can engage their natural sniffing instincts. Each area was planned to help dogs move safely, rest properly and engage in structured play throughout the day.
Clear zoning separates active, quiet and clinical areas to improve circulation, while front and back of house areas and a staff tea point provide essential operational support, creating a space that functions smoothly for both dogs and the people who care for them.
The design takes cues from nature, using greens, neutrals and timber to resemble the outdoors and create a calming feel. Existing features such as timber panelling and barn style doors were retained to reduce waste and maintain character. Acoustic floor and ceiling treatments help manage noise, while durable, easy clean materials ensure the environment can withstand daily wear.
As the space was left fully furnished by its previous occupants, we reused suitable items within the new scheme and donated equipment and toys to a children’s charity through our waste partner, Lawmans. This approach reduced unnecessary waste and ensured the project delivered meaningful benefit.
The completed centre gives WagWorks a larger, more capable destination that expands their offer and reinforces their brand, creating an environment shaped around the needs of dogs, their owners and the team.
