Project description

Upon entry to abrdn, you are immediately taken aback by the stunning reception space. Featuring bespoke timber joinery, clean white finishes and a glazed staircase, the reception space was an important part of the brief. abrdn was keen to create a front of house style entrance to ensure they provide visitors with a special experience and leaving no doubt as to who occupies the space. The unique feature of the reception is the bespoke abrdn logo created using metal discs that catch the eye as it reflects light into the space.

On the first floor, what appears to be a waiting room can be seamlessly transformed into a flexible event space featuring a soft colour palette and statement media wall. abrdn’s brand colours are predominantly black and white so Morgan Lovell were keen translate an elegance into the office design that reflects simplicity.

Taking inspiration from abrdn’s Edinburgh office, Morgan Lovell designed a zen garden featuring grains and biophilia. This breakout space offers an alternative working environment away from traditional desk space and meeting rooms. The Zen Garden also provides the perfect alternative to the second floor broadcasting room, perfect for abrdn's in-house media commitments. The design features soft cell acoustic systems to accompany the advanced AV installations throughout the office space.
