Key features

  • Subtle brand elements
  • Homely feel
  • Acoustic prioritisation
  • Sustainable materials

Arctos, a private investment firm with established offices in New York and Dallas, wanted to move into their first London space and required a fit out that made a splash. The aim was to appeal to potential London partners by creating a statement, client-facing area that included a reception, tea point and meeting room. Beyond that, Arctos required an open plan office space for their people, with additional meeting and teapoint facilities.

Arctos called for clear and effective communication throughout the project because of the distance. They needed concise and informative updates to ensure alignment and progress tracking. Sustainability was also a priority for Arctos with sustainable features included in the design.

International collaboration

From the outset, we prioritised open communication to meet Arctos' brief. Our communication and scheduling worked around Arctos' US time zone to make progress updates as realistic as possible and we used Matterport 3D scans to provide visual updates. This also ensured clarity on sign-off dates, making the remote collaboration seamless.

Creating a branded elegance

Delivering on an agreed vision for the space, we created a living room-style environment that is comfortable, cosy and welcoming, with subtle branding elements that reflected their identity. Using ice blue and white colours inspired by their polar bear logo, we sourced a bespoke rug with a pattern that mimics shattered ice as a unique touch. The stone used in the reception area is a combination of quartz and marble, enhancing the premium feel of the space. Acoustic solutions, such as sounds absorbing panels, were prioritised to minimise noise transfer, ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment despite the compact size. Given the size of the space, we exposed the ceiling in the open plan area to create a sense of height and openness.

Sustainable functionality

Sustainability was a key consideration in the brief and the design. We incorporated recycled leather panels into wall finishes and worksurfaces made from recycled materials, ensuring that every element reflects our joint commitment to sustainability in the design. FSC-certified timber was used throughout, especially in the bespoke joinery.

Come on in...

Arctos' first London office space is a high end, welcoming environment that meets all their needs and exceeds their expectations. The living room-style areas and the subtle, elegant branding have created a space that feels both comfortable and professional, boosting morale and productivity.

Arctos were delighted with the seamlessness of their move and they praised the end result as being fantastic in every aspect. The new office space not only enables their business operations but also serves as an impressive venue for investor meetings, paving the way for continued business growth.
